The Burke County Fire Marshal's Office was established in 1971 and current staff consist of three personnel that include a Fire Marshal, Deputy Fire Marshal, and Fire Inspector.  The Fire Marshal's Office serves as a liaison between county government and the volunteer fire departments to assist with the budget process, standards compliance, district mapping, reporting, and training and education.  The Fire Marshal's Office also maintains a person on an “on call” basis of 24 hours per day that is available to respond to any county incident.
